A Non-Peptide GLP-1 Receptor Agonist
Most compounds that activate the GLP-1 receptor are peptides, modeled on the body’s own glucagon-like peptide-1. Orforglipron is different. It is a small synthetic molecule with no amino-acid chain, designed to bind the GLP-1 receptor and activate it despite looking nothing like the natural hormone. That makes it a useful tool for researchers interested in how a receptor normally triggered by a peptide can be engaged by a much smaller chemical structure.
Questions the Research Has Asked
Published preclinical work on orforglipron and similar non-peptide agonists has explored:
- where on the GLP-1 receptor the molecule binds, compared with the native peptide
- whether it shows biased signaling, favoring some downstream pathways (such as cAMP) over others
- how its receptor pharmacology differs between species, a known complication with small-molecule GLP-1 agonists
These structural and signaling questions are an active area, and the referenced publications are the best guide to specific methods and findings.
How It Is Supplied
Refresh Research carries orforglipron as capsules. Each capsule is labeled at 6 mg, and there are 60 capsules per container. As with all of our capsule products, the per-capsule figure and the count are listed separately, so you can calculate the container total yourself (360 mg here).
How it differs from our GLP-1 vials
Our GLP-1, GLP-2 and GLP-3 products are lyophilized peptides in vials. Orforglipron is a small molecule in capsule form and should not be regarded as interchangeable with them in records or study design; it is a separate compound with its own literature.
Certificates
Orforglipron batch results can be opened from COA / Lab Reports. Use the lot number on your container to locate the matching certificate and confirm identity and quantity.
For in-vitro laboratory research only.
