Not a Peptide: What Tesofensine Is
Tesofensine is a small synthetic molecule, not a peptide. Chemically it belongs to the phenyltropane family, and pharmacologically it is described as a triple monoamine reuptake inhibitor, meaning it has been characterized as blocking the transporters that clear serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine from the space between nerve cells. It was originally developed by a Danish pharmaceutical group as part of neurological research programs.
Research Directions
Early investigations centered on neurodegenerative models. Later work, much of it in rodents, turned toward how monoamine signaling in the brain relates to feeding behavior and energy balance. Researchers have also examined its interaction with hypothalamic circuits and its pharmacological profile compared with single-target reuptake inhibitors. As with any compound, results depend heavily on the model, and the reference list below is where the specific findings live.
The Capsule Format
Refresh Research offers tesofensine as capsules only. Each capsule is labeled at 500 mcg, and each container holds 30 capsules, so the container carries 15 mg in total. Keeping those two figures separate, the per-capsule amount and the count per container, makes it easier to plan quantities for a study and to compare against other products in the catalog.
Because tesofensine is a small molecule, it does not need the reconstitution step that lyophilized peptides do. Capsules are best kept sealed, dry and away from heat and light until use. Logging the date a container is first opened is a simple habit that makes later review of your records easier.
Checking the Certificate
Every batch of these capsules is linked to a certificate of analysis. Search the COA / Lab Reports listing by product name and lot number to find it. When reviewing it, confirm the compound identity, the stated amount per capsule, and that the lot printed on your container matches the report exactly.
Supplied strictly for in-vitro and laboratory research.
