Description
A tripeptide with an affinity for copper
GHK is a three-residue peptide, glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine, that was first isolated from human plasma in the 1970s. It binds copper(II) ions tightly, and the resulting complex, GHK-Cu, has become one of the most widely studied small peptides in cell biology. Researchers noted early on that plasma levels of GHK appear to decline with age, which helped draw attention to its biology.
Lines of research
Laboratory work with GHK-Cu has looked at fibroblast behavior in culture, collagen and glycosaminoglycan synthesis, copper transport into cells, and wide-ranging changes in gene expression reported in cell-based datasets. Animal models of tissue repair have also featured in the literature. These findings describe experimental systems; Refresh Research does not suggest any personal or cosmetic use.
Capsule details
- Format: capsules in a sealed bottle
- Labeled quantity: 2 mg GHK-Cu per capsule
- Count: 60 capsules
- Sequence: Gly-His-Lys, complexed with copper(II)
Across the bottle, that amounts to 120 mg of GHK-Cu, divided into pre-measured units. Labs that want fixed, repeatable quantities without weighing out powder sometimes prefer capsules for that reason.
Other GHK-Cu formats
If your protocol calls for a solution you prepare yourself, the GHK-Cu Copper Peptide Vial comes in 50 and 100 mg options. GHK-Cu also features in two of our blends: GLOW (with BPC-157 and TB-500) and KLOW (which adds KPV).
Storage
Keep the bottle tightly closed in a cool, dry place out of direct light. Copper complexes can be sensitive to moisture, so return the cap promptly after removing capsules.
The copper complex gives GHK-Cu a faint blue tint in its raw form, which is normal for the material. Researchers comparing capsule and vial formats often note this when inspecting lots side by side. Some labs photograph each new lot on arrival as part of their intake records.
How we document quality
Refresh Research has every lot independently analyzed. The lot number on the bottle connects you directly to its certificate of analysis on the COA / Lab Reports page.
